One thing you can be sure of when shopping with Hale Cosmeceuticals – all of our products are cruelty-free. We complete our own research and development and never test on animals. And the good news is that this trend is becoming increasingly widespread! Advances in technology and greater awareness in public opinion means that someday soon, we may see the end of animals in cosmetic laboratories.
You might be surprised to know that animal testing in cosmetics is actually quite new – and in the long history of cosmetics, it’s been a very brief trend. Whereas animals have been used in laboratories for various medical purposes since the 19th Century, cosmetics companies would not begin using animals until the 1930s. The activity peaked in the 1980s, but has been in significant decline ever since.
In 1998, Britain outlawed the use of animals in cosmetics testing. The European Union followed suit in 2009. Right now, the United States has no such law – but with increasing public pressure from animal rights groups, we may see a similar ban very soon.
How can you ensure high quality cosmetics without testing for safety and effectiveness on animals? At Hale Cosmeceuticals, we do it all the time!
First and foremost, we already have decades of data about the way different ingredients and processes affect the outcome. We don’t need to keep testing the same ingredients over and over when we already know how they work!
We also have more advanced technologies that enable us to run computer simulations, gauging the effectiveness of various components without needing to run field tests. Additionally, our commitment to working with natural and non-toxic ingredients means there are fewer chemicals with potential harmful side effects in our formulas.
