Developing and testing skin care products are not inexpensive undertakings. Research requires special equipment and the expertise of highly qualified scientists. Many companies just don't have the money (or prioritize the investment) to conduct their own research. Instead, they rely on the research findings of skin care companies or other consumer testing labs. Waiting for someone else to do the research puts you behind the curve when it comes to finding out about and incorporating new ingredients.
